Vivitek 2010 Logo-5

In the Get to know this brand series, it’s time for Vivitek, a brand specializing in projectors. The wide range of these devices includes a full cross-section of solutions – from pocket-sized devices from the Qumi series to installation machines from the D8000 and D9000 series. But that’s not all – Vivitek, with its Novo system, is also boldly entering the wireless communication market in conference rooms.

Origins

For everyone involved in the projector market, Vivitek was a completely unknown brand just a few years ago. In 2008, while Sanyo, BenQ, and Optoma, along with a few other recognizable brands, ruled the market, no one suspected that there would be room for a new player. Especially for Vivitek – a brand unknown to anyone – at first glance completely without knowledge and the necessary technological background. However, as it turned out, appearances are deceiving. Behind the Vivitek brand stands the powerful Delta Electronics concern – currently a global leader in the field of power electronics. Delta’s factories produce not only electronic components, but also projectors for leading brands in the large venue segment. It was precisely the experience gained in this field that decided Delta would take up the challenge and create its own projector brand.

Vivitek 2010 Logo-5

The name Vivitek came from combining the words Vivid and Technology, suggesting that we are dealing with a vivid, bright technology. The mission of the Vivitek brand is to provide presentation and image display equipment tailored to consumer needs and characterized by the highest quality. According to the motto used by Delta Electronics:

Smarter, Greener, Together.

Vivitek brand projectors are manufactured with consideration for environmental protection needs. They are produced in “green” manufacturing plants equipped with intelligent cooling systems and energy-saving power supply units. Only lead-free alloys are used in production. Vivitek is sold worldwide through a network of authorized sales representatives and distributors (such as ViDiS). The company’s research and development department is located in Taiwan, and its production plants are in China.

Key Dates

2008

Brand establishment. Delta Electronics, which already had over 10 years of experience in designing and manufacturing projectors in 2008, decided to create its own brand named Vivitek. Below is the D326MX – one of the brand’s first projectors.

2009

Entry into the Polish market. ViDiS becomes the official distributor of the Vivitek brand. Initially, the brand operated alongside Sanyo, before becoming the leading projector brand in ViDiS’s offer in 2012. Although it was initially difficult to break through among more recognizable brands, quality combined with price and our drive made Vivitek quickly climb up in market share reports. However, true sales hits were yet to come…

2012

Debut of the D871ST short-throw model. This was one of the most popular short-throw projectors on the market – selling over 2,000 units. Its success was closely tied to a very good price-to-quality ratio and, above all, the growing sales of interactive whiteboards. As a short-throw projector, the D871ST was ideal for sets with e.g., Qomo, Smart, or Avtek whiteboards.

2014

DX881st enters the game – the successor to the D871ST. It would seem that it would be hard to repeat the success of the most popular short-throw projector in Poland. Nevertheless – they succeeded. The DX881st has upgraded parameters and a very competitive price, which, combined with the unabated wave of popularity of interactive whiteboards, resulted in even higher sales. And history is still being written, as the product is still on sale.

Vivitek Today

In less than 10 years, Vivitek has gone from a little-known brand to one of the most popular brands on the Polish market. Success also accompanies it in other European countries and the USA, where Vivitek has joined the ranks of market leaders. But that’s not the end. With a powerful technological background up its sleeve, year after year, Vivitek shows more and more interesting products – it’s worth checking out the reports from the ISE trade fair in Amsterdam, where a very large stand attracted visitors with several impressive installations.

The current offer is also impressive, including, among others:

Qumi_Q6_Black_and_White_

Qumi series projectors

serie-d75x_165_6

Short throw and ultra-short throw – also in Full HD resolution

H1186_B_02

Hxxxx series created for home cinema

Installation machines, including the DU9000 with a brightness of 11,000 Ansi lm

Analyzing market shares, it’s not hard to see that Vivitek is doing particularly well in the short-throw projector market used mainly in education. This is largely due to the high sales of the DX881ST model.
