Aver Make Friends 2

Education without borders – empty words or the natural order of things in modern education? Many would still lean towards the first option for one simple reason: arranging a meeting between students from Poland, Taiwan, and Armenia in the traditional way requires extremely high financial and time investments. Aver proves that it can be done differently.

What is Make Friends? It is an unprecedented event thanks to which students from distant corners of the world can meet, present their artistic program, and above all – talk and make friends. However, instead of traveling thousands of kilometers, schools connect with each other using Aver video conferencing kits. Full HD image, a very good microphone, and ease of connection make students feel as if they were in the same room. Additionally, natural fluency and curiosity for new technologies arouse huge interest among young people, who adapt extremely quickly to the new learning environment.

Aver Make Friends came to Poland for the second time – the first edition took place on March 19, 2015, and turned out to be a great success, which you can read more about here. By clicking below, you can see how the participants of the first edition learned:

In the December edition of Make Friends, two schools from Taiwan, a school from Armenia, and Middle School No. 30 of the French Diaspora in Wrocław participated. The meeting was held in English, and the topic was unique holidays celebrated exclusively in the participants’ countries. The Polish group presented Dożynki (Harvest Festival): there was a live cooking show and a certain hit whose title we will not mention was sung. Unfortunately – it has already gone out into the world… 😉

Everyone had a great time, and the heroes of the video conference seemed to like each other – symbolically exchanging their Instagram account details at the end of the meeting.

In summary – once again, in cooperation with Aver and Projekcja, we managed to show that Distance Learning and Education without Borders in education can be implemented simultaneously with grandeur and at a low financial cost. A professional video conferencing kit at school can become a kind of window through which students can communicate with peers from any corner of the world – all live and in high video and sound quality. Video conferencing is not only fun, but also learning – language training, getting to know other cultures, and making friends.

We sincerely hope that such solutions will be widely used in schools – which will allow for building a base of institutions that can connect with each other.
