Get to know this brand: CTOUCH
There has been a lot of talk recently about the interactive displays we have in our offer, which is why we feel obliged to explain to you how it all started. Or rather:
How it all started at ViDiS?
Answering the question in one word, we can write – CTOUCH. Behind this word lies the brand that popularized interactive displays in Europe. But let’s take things one by one…
Intensive technological development at the end of the last century seemed to bypass education, which used primarily traditional chalk / whiteboard surfaces in the teaching process. It wasn’t until the beginning of the 21st century that intensive computerization arrived, followed by the first interactive whiteboards. They began to storm educational classrooms. Combining a large image with interactivity turned out to be a bullseye, as around 2006 most schools in the USA (and slightly later in the UK and the Netherlands) were already largely equipped with these devices.
The undeniable success of interactive whiteboards was noticed by innovators who, knowing about falling LCD panel prices, decided to act. And that is how the idea for LCD displays with touch overlays was born, and a bit later, the CTOUCH brand.
Key dates
2009
Brand creation. In January 2009, the CTOUCH brand was officially launched. Interestingly, this brand originates from Sahara Benelux, an AV solutions distributor with over 20 years of experience. Today, Sahara promotes itself as a specific incubator for modern solutions, presenting CTOUCH as its flagship brand.
2012
The beginning of cooperation with ViDiS. The year 2012 for ViDiS included, among other things, the debut of Avtek at the ISE trade fair. A visit to the Netherlands also resulted in establishing cooperation with CTOUCH – it was in Amsterdam that the first talks began.
2013
Debut of Leddura XT. The displays of the Leddura XT series were further proof that CTOUCH focuses on innovation. As one of the first, they offered the option of building an OPS computer inside, and provided the ability to connect a dedicated speaker panel (Soundbar). Leddura XT also featured the Active IRO touch module, which offered increased touch registration precision.
2015
Debut of Laser Air. The new series, treated as economical in the CTOUCH offer, already at launch offered a number of interesting possibilities. More about Laser Air in a separate post.
What will the future bring?
The year 2016 looks particularly fascinating, as capacitive touch screen models announced since ISE 2014, such as Lexinus, will have their premiere (you can read a bit more about touch technologies in this article). The main difference will be the almost complete absence of frames (infrared panels were previously hidden in them) and much more precise touch registration.
In the case of CTOUCH, we can also expect a re-release of the Mensa series, within which interactive tables (such interactive displays on four legs) were once available. Now Mensa is expected to offer much better touch and display quality.
The hardware that CTOUCH showed during the ISE 2015 fair can be found in the video below, starting from minute 6:08. Most of these are prototypes that will officially debut in a slightly improved form in 2016.
CTOUCH is also a brand that conducts its marketing in a striking way – starting from its FB, YouTube or Twitter page. Even the Dutch company’s regular newsletter takes the form of an interactive newspaper. Meanwhile, the new brochure promoting the latest series is a masterpiece in terms of its delivery form 😉
From our side, we especially encourage you to check out their YouTube account, where you can see the brand’s displays in action.
All this paints a picture of a modern brand that sets trends in the interactive display market. In Poland, they are positioned as high-end products, being not only an effective presentation tool, but also an impressive addition to any modern office, prestigious conference room, or hotel lobby.
